This Data Policy outlines how FounderTube collects, processes, stores, and protects data across its media platform, including foundertube.com, podcast distribution channels (YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts), email communications, and profile systems. This Policy supplements our Privacy Policy and is intended for users, featured founders, sponsors, and contributors.
1. Categories of Data We Process
1.1 User Account Data
Name, email address, password (hashed), and profile preferences
Startup name, founding year, industry, stage, and team details
Profile visibility settings and content preferences
1.2 Editorial & Feature Data
Founder and Startup profiles created through our application or editorial process
Articles, interviews, and feature content submitted or approved for publication
Media assets including photos, logos, and video/audio files associated with features
1.3 Podcast & Media Data
Signed media release and consent forms from podcast guests
Raw audio and video recordings delivered to guests upon completion
Published episode data distributed across YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts
Short-form clips (Reels, Shorts) derived from published episodes
1.4 Commercial & Transactional Data
Paid PR agreements, invoices, and deliverable records
Sponsored content briefs, placement agreements, and campaign performance data
Vendor and partner contact details for business communication
1.5 Analytics Data
Aggregated website traffic, engagement, and audience demographics
Podcast listener metrics from platform providers (Spotify, YouTube analytics)
Email open rates, click-through rates, and newsletter engagement data
2. Data Access & Control for Founders and Startups
When a Founder or Startup profile is published on FounderTube:
The profile subject receives access credentials to log in and update profile content directly through their dashboard
Changes to editorial content (article body, podcast description, curated quotes) must be requested via email to media@foundertube.com
Requests for profile removal or major structural changes are reviewed on a case-by-case basis within 14 business days
FounderTube reserves editorial discretion over published article and podcast content
3. Data Retention Schedule
User Accounts:
Active accounts: Retained while the account is active
Deleted accounts: Personal identifiers removed within 30 days; anonymized analytics retained
Profiles:
Published profiles: Retained indefinitely unless removal is requested and approved
Unpublished/draft profiles: Deleted after 90 days of inactivity
Podcast & Media:
Consent/release forms: 7 years post-publication
Raw files delivered to guests: FounderTube retains a copy for 2 years post-publication
Published episodes and clips: Retained as long as the channel is active
Commercial:
Transaction and campaign records: 8 years as required by Indian tax law
Newsletter:
Subscriber data: Until unsubscription; unsubscribe records kept for compliance
4. Third-Party Data Processors
We work with the following categories of third-party processors who may handle your data:
Email platforms (newsletter delivery and management)
Payment gateways (e.g., Razorpay) for processing transactions
Analytics providers (e.g., Google Analytics) for platform insights
Podcast distribution platforms (Spotify, YouTube, Apple Podcasts) for episode hosting
Cloud storage and hosting providers for media and data storage
All processors are required to handle data securely and in accordance with applicable law. We do not authorize processors to use your data for their own marketing purposes.
5. Data Minimization & Purpose Limitation
We collect only the data necessary for the stated purpose. Data collected for editorial features is not used for advertising targeting. Data collected for commercial partnerships is not used to build user profiles. Analytics data is aggregated and not used to identify individuals.
6. Data Breach Response
In the event of a data breach:
We will contain and assess the breach within 72 hours of discovery
Affected users will be notified promptly where there is significant risk of harm
We will report to relevant Indian authorities as required by applicable law
A post-incident review will be conducted and controls updated accordingly
7. Updates to This Policy
This Data Policy may be updated to reflect changes in our operations, technology, or legal requirements. Updates will be posted on foundertube.com with a revised effective date.
